Kuwait Urology Board is a 5-year postgraduate surgical residency training program under the umbrella of the Kuwait Institute for Medical Specialisation. It is a non-profit organisation that trains selected Kuwaiti and non-Kuwaiti doctors of excellent academic background in preparation to sit the Royal College of Physicians of Canada-over sighted board exam, where residents graduate with a certification of clinical doctorate equivalence. The program has been established in 2011 and since then has graduated 22 board certified urologists, most of which have gone on to undertake fellowships in Canada, and currently trains 18 residents.
The Kuwait Urology Board takes pride in its local, regional and international achievements, being an active research hub in Kuwait and the Gulf region, with most of its graduates and residents having published in critically-acclaimed scientific journals or presented and were awarded for outstanding participation in important international conferences.
